Stop Rules Mandating the End of the Internal Combustion Engine

Congress must prevent implementation of proposed rules mandating the end of internal combustion engine-powered vehicles. We call for legislation to prevent funding of currently proposed EPA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules that would impose fuel-economy and tailpipe emission standards so stringent that they could only be achieved by eliminating production of internal combustion engine-powered vehicles, thereby severely limiting demand for liquid fuels and associated infrastructure.

The proposed rules significantly exceed the authority granted to those agencies by their original enabling legislation.
