TAKE ACTION FOR ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE

Object to US Bank's Anti-pipeline Policy

USBancorp, parent of U.S. Bank, announced at a recent Annual Meeting of Shareholders their new "Environmental Responsibility Policy." The policy expressly prohibits the bank from financing oil and natural gas pipeline projects. It further subjects new and existing business banking customers who provide construction, equipment, supplies or services to energy infrastructure to discriminatory heightened scrutiny of their policies and practices. This misguided action affects millions of American workers who work hard every day to provide construction, equipment, supplies, logistics, professional services and technology to improve and expand our nations energy infrastructure.

Take action by telling U.S. Bank about your opposition to their ill-advised policy, and urge them to work for energy policies that support the American economy and the hard-working men and women who keep it strong by delivering affordable, clean energy to homes and businesses.

Dear Ms. Thompson:

USBancorp's recently adopted anti-pipeline policy is discriminatory and an insult to the hard working men and women of the U.S. energy infrastructure industry. The policy is ill-advised, unjustifiably discriminatory, and actually works against your stated purpose of supporting environmentally responsible business and employment.

Natural gas and the necessary pipeline infrastructure are responsible for America leading the world in carbon emissions reduction. More of both will be necessary as we integrate more renewables and replace more of our generating capacity with much cleaner fuels.

I hope you will keep these thoughts in mind, and work for a revised policy that is more balanced and reflects the immense economic contributions that the energy supply chain provides to our nation and our environment.

Your policy prohibits the bank from financing pipeline projects. It further subjects new and existing clients who support energy infrastructure to heightened scrutiny of their policies and practices. This misguided action negatively impacts millions of American workers employed in over 120,000 companies in 60 industries, annually contributing more than $170 billion to the U.S. economy, working in every state of the union, who provide construction, equipment, supplies, logistics, professional services and technology in support of energy production and delivery infrastructure.

I ask you to convey to the Bank's other Officers and Directors that your actions are a direct assault on Americas energy workers, energy independence and economic vitality, as our country moves to rebuild its infrastructure, integrate more clean-burning natural gas and renewables into the power grid, and put hard-working Americans back to work.

Sincerely,

(your name will appear here)
