EEIA Launches Pipeline Support Network
June 23, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC. The Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance (EEIA) today announced the formation of a special action group to engage the supply chain to work for regulatory approval of pipelines and other major energy infrastructure projects.

Responding to opposition to pipeline projects from groups whose ultimate purpose is retard production and consumption of natural gas and petroleum products, EEIA has established the Pipeline Infrastructure Action Group. The group is made up of suppliers of construction, equipment, materials and services used in building pipelines and other energy infrastructure projects. Members of the network will be called on to speak at hearings, file comments and engage their communities in support of projects under review as they move through local and state approval proceedings.

In announcing formation of the group, EEIA President Toby Mack cited the jobs created and the economic growth generated when pipelines are built and operated. Literally hundreds of thousands of good jobs are at stake in having these projects move forward, along with expanding the safest and most economical way to transport our abundant supplies of oil and gas to consumers, he noted.

The group's immediate focus is on supporting proposed pipeline projects currently under review. It will also engage in education of federal and state policymakers, and the public at large, about the economic and employment contributions of companies and workers in the pipeline supply chain, and the importance of pipelines in delivering affordable energy to consumers.
